2008 Index
The 2008 Access to Medicine Index was the first Index of its kind to track corporate governance as well as the economic, financial, environmental and social performance of twenty of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, including three generic companies, and their efforts to increase universal access to medicines. Companies were ranked to scores on one of eight main criteria which affects rating according tooverall performance. Access to Medicine Interactive Web ToolThis interactive web tool enables visitors to click through layers of data and sort through the outcomes of the 2008 Access to Medicine Index. Click on the criteria to view how companies have been ranked according to their performance in each particular aspect. Click on company names to find comprehensive profiles of individual drug makers. Links within the profiles point towards more detailed documents that highlight companies’ recent actions and policies or the relative lack thereof. The tool is based on a more comprehensive report written by RiskMetrics Groups on behalf of and in co-operation with the Access to Medicine Foundation.
